On November 26, Tyumen Industrial University held a scientific and practical on-line interuniversity conference "Heritage as the Driver of Socio-Economic Development of Regions of the Tyumen Oblast". The conference summed up the results of the project "Architectural Image of the Region", which is being implemented at the University Institute of Architecture and Design.

Pavel Shulgin, Head of the Centre for Regional Programmes of Social and Cultural Development at the Institute for Social Policy, made a main report at the conference devoted to "The Cultural Framework of the Tyumen Region and the Main Tasks to be Solved within its Formation".

The leading expert of the Centre, Olga Shtele, also made a report at this conference on the theme "The Main Socio-Economic Results of Work on the Cultural Framework of the Tyumen Region".

The conference was attended by specialists of higher educational institutions and research institutes of Tyumen and Moscow, representatives of departments of the Government of the Tyumen region and deputies of the Tyumen regional Duma, representatives of cities and administrative districts of the region.

An exhibition of student projects on the restoration of cultural heritage objects, their adaptation to modern museum tasks and tourism development, organization of the territory of historical settlements with reports on completed projects was organized, too.
