Pavel Shulgin took part in the XVII Congress of the Russian Geographical Society
On October 22 and 23, the 17th Congress of the Russian Geographical Society, which is celebrating its 180th anniversary this year, was held at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
The Congress reviewed the results of the Russian Geographical Society's five-year work and discussed its priority areas of activity. The Congress was addressed by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who proposed declaring 2027 as the Year of Geography.
Pavel Shulgin, Head of the Centre for Regional Programmes of Social and Cultural Development, was invited to the congress as an expert in evaluating the work for the Russian Geographical Society's awards in the field of preserving the country's natural and historical-cultural heritage.
